Postby overthetop on October 3rd, 2006, 4:27 am

The work party went really well we got a lot done we worked on several spots that needed attention done some bench cutting in a couple of places that were moving the trail down hill. I think you all will like the changes
that has been made. I will be cutting the grass on the gas line climb and the tornado section this evening and also around the spill way.

When you all go to winder to ride check out Mellow Mushroom they have some awesome pizza. They sponsored our work party with food for lunch
so when you go in their tell them YABA sent you.

I want to say thank you to the following members of YABA For a job well done:

Randy Gordon
Rob smeltzer
Brian mouton
Hugh Woodruff
Cathy Halget
John Hill

O by the way as of 10/2/06 trails are very dry and very fast

Trails are in good shape we will be blowing them off in the next week or so I have been waiting on most the leafs to fall off the trees because it takes about 3.5 hrs to blow off 12 miles of trails

You will notice the new Carsonite signs going up hopefully these signs will do a better job for new comers to the park you cant miss them their fire engine red.

Fort Yargo will be Closed to all visitors November 29th & 30th
For a deer hunt to thin out the heard this is necessary. I am sure a lot of you have almost hit deer out their. I personally have ran over a small fawn and killed it. :( . If you look closely at the deer
their ribs are showing their is not enough food to support the heard that is on Fort Yargo's land. DNR estimates that their are 300 deer on the park that's 80 deer per square mile. when their is only supposed to be 15 to 20 per square mile Fort Yargo has 3 square miles of land.

well trails were in good shape but now its raining maybe by wed afternoon trail will be rideable again I blew off all 12 miles of the trail system took me 2 days. 4 hrs. on Friday 3 on Saturday

man I wanted to wait till all the leafs had fallen off the trees but
after an Inspection Tuesday figured I better go ahead and blow them off the ground was moist in several places along the trail
and it had not rained in a week and a half so that's why I went ahead and blew them off.

I will blow them off again when the leafs finish falling.

As far as the trail goes we got a ton of rain wednesday I thin the trails will be good to go by Saturday.

Fort Yargo is now Bi-Directional

We finally got some temporary signs up. The signs are fire engine red and are at the main trail head, Down next to the old fort, and in "B" Area parking lot telling you which way to go for a given day.
The signs that are being professionally made will not be their till summer not sure why but that is what the park told me. I asked if we could put up some temporary signs they agreed to let us do that. Their is pamphlets at the office inside and out side telling you which way to go and also a rules of the trail sheet plus a trail map. Next time your their stop at the office and pick one up. ENJOY.

Please spread the word that they are now BI-Directional.

Hear is the Schedule:

Monday CW
Tuesday CCW
Wednesday CW
Thursday CCW
Friday CW
Saturday CCW
Sunday CW

Sorry guys its been a while since I have posted anything but I have not been riding due to building a new section to by pass the dirt road you ride down looks like its gonna be a fun section trying to keep it tight and twisty to go along with the rest of that section that is tight and twisty.

As far as the trail goes its in decent shape we have had so much rain that it never seems to dry out completely. We put in a pipe
in about 1/4 of a mile before you cross the dirt road going CW
due to a underground spring popping up in this area. we done this due to a couple of people going over the handlebars.

Saturday at best maybe even Sunday we got alot of Ice and rain
and its Friday morning and theirs no sunshine in sight expect the
arched bridge section to be sloppy its never dried out from the last time it rained. I put in two bridges in 2 gully's past the First road crossing that never seemed to dry out.
