Trail work continues at ESNP. Since the last work day, 4 bridges and 5 culverts have been installed ( a small group of volunteers have been coming out on the weekdays after work). This makes the first loop ridable. Not finished but ridable. We still need to do some finishing work. But what this means is that after a work day, we have a trail to ride. Also saw a friend on the trail. I will call him timber - short for timber rattlesnake. You might ask, " when is the trail going to be open?". The official open date set by the parks department is in October. "You mean I have to wait till October to ride the trail?". The answer is no. Check the calendar for the next work day. We work for about 3 hours, lunch (provided by Sorba), then ride. With 9 miles scheduled to be completed by October, we will have plenty of workdays.
